I couldn't agree more with your "Too many cooks in transportation planning" editorial (Feb. 9).

It proved yet again that the PACTS plan will be met with sweeping
opposition if it continues to deny the extreme importance of public
transit options.

I work at the University of Southern Maine, and in the past week, students have been holding educational tables on this plan and arranging meetings to educate their fellow students.

Wider highways aren't our priority -- we want public transit and safe biking and walking paths.
